Greater Hazleton (Pa.) Health Alliance and Lehigh Valley Health Network based in Allentown, Pa., have signed a merger agreement expected to be ratified May 1, pending regulatory approval.
Under the agreement, the two non-profit systems will merge all assets to form a four-hospital entity that includes Hazleton (Pa.) General Hospital, LVH - Muhlenberg in Bethlehem, Pa., and LVH - Cedar Crest and LVH - 17th Street, both in Allentown, Pa., as well as both systems' physician groups.
Officials have not yet announced how the new entity will be named or branded, and financial details were not disclosed.
