The board of directors for Lakeland (Fla.) Regional Medical Center and its parent Lakeland Regional Health System voted to join Tampa-based University of South Florida's new health system, according to a report by The Ledger.
USF's board of trustees must approve the arrangement before further details of the relationship can be finalized.
Under the agreement, Lakeland Regional would join USF's health system as an inaugural member and teaching hospital.
