After suffering $16 million in losses, Highline Medical Center in Burien, Wash., is considering potential partners for a strategic partnership, according to a Highline Times report.
The board of trustees has set a June deadline for its decision on pursuing a strategic partnership.
According to the report, possible strategic partners include Swedish Medical Center in Seattle; Seattle-based Virginia Mason Medical Center; the University of Washington in Seattle; and Tacoma-based Multi-Care.
Highline Medical is also outsourcing all remaining patient accounts and coding, for private insurance, to deal with its financial struggles. Highline began outsourcing its Medicare billing and other business office functions in 2007.
