Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle and Kirkland, Wash.-based Evergreen Healthcare have formed a strategic partnership to collaborate on patient care, according to a joint news release.
Under the partnership, the systems will remain independent while collaborating on certain initiatives, such as shared medical services and the development of new treatments and technologies. The organizations will partner on primary, secondary and tertiary cardiac services and align home care and hospice services.
A letter of agreement is expected to be signed mid-November. The partnership is not a merger and does not involve any transaction that affects the governance, management or financial independence of the two organizations, according to the release.
