Allegiance Health in Jackson, Mich., has joined Detroit-based Henry Ford Health System and introduced its new name — Henry Ford Allegiance Health.
The deal closed April 5 after months of negotiations and regulatory reviews. The organizations signed a letter of intent to join forces last November and inked a definitive agreement in March.
Through the transaction, Allegiance Health — a single-hospital system — will expand its services, build clinical capacity and improve its facilities and technology.
"We are so pleased to welcome Allegiance Health into the Henry Ford family," said Nancy Schlichting, CEO of Henry Ford Health System. "Our health systems share the same values and commitment to the diverse communities we serve. We look forward to combining nearly 200 years of care and service to benefit the residents of Jackson and the surrounding communities."
