HCA acquires New Hampshire hospital

Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare has completed its acquisition of Frisbie Memorial Hospital, a 112-bed hospital in Rochester, N.H.

As part of the purchase, the for-profit hospital operator has agreed to construct a psychiatric area in Frisbie Memorial Hospital's ER, replace the current MRI and build a pharmacy clean room. HCA will also establish a nonprofit community foundation as part of the deal.

"For more than 100 years Frisbie Memorial Hospital has served the Rochester community and, together, we are excited to continue this legacy of caring for many years to come," HCA Healthcare Capital Division President Tim McManus said in a release.

Frisbie Memorial Hospital is HCA's third facility in New Hampshire. The company also operates Parkland Medical Center in Derry, N.H., and Portsmouth (N.H.) Regional Hospital.
