The integration of Bloomsburg (Pa.) Hospital and its affiliates into Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger Health System received final approval from the Pennsylvania Attorney General's antitrust division.
In addition, the transition to the new Geisinger-Bloomsburg Hospital and Geisinger-Bloomsburg Health Care Center, a nursing care facility affiliated with Bloomsburg Hospital, occurred Sunday.
Bloomsburg Physician Services will integrate into Geisinger Clinic this autumn, and Columbia Mountour Home Health in Bloomsburg will integrate into Geisinger Community Health Services a few months later.
Geisinger will also develop information technology projects to address infrastructure needs at the Geisinger-Bloomsburg Hospital campus, according to the release. The effort is estimated to take 12 to 18 months and require capital investments of approximately $10 million.
