Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives and Omaha, Neb.-based Immanuel Communities, the co-sponsors of Alegent Health in Omaha, have signed a letter of intent for CHI to become the sole sponsor of Alegent Health, according to a Southwest Iowa News report.
Under the terms of the deal, Immanuel will resign its membership and governance role in Alegent. CHI will establish a strategic collaboration with Immanuel allowing the independent- and assisted-living operator to focus on its services for seniors. The deal comes after a decision by Immanuel's board of directors to focus on senior care programs, according to the report.
According to the report, both organizations expect to complete the transition and plans for collaboration in senior care by the end of this year.
