Brownwood (Texas) Regional Medical Center and Brown County have approved an affiliation agreement to fund indigent care patients, according to a Brownwood Bulletin report.
The affiliation allows Brownwood Regional to apply for federal funding for indigent healthcare services if the money is budgeted through the county, according to the report.
The potential cost of the plan to provide funding for indigent care through the affiliation was not disclosed. However, there is a no notice clause, which allows either the county or the hospital to pull out of the deal if it is "deemed detrimental" to either party, according to the report.
