Beaumont Health closes 3 clinics, sells one to California management firm

Royal Oak, Mich.-based Beaumont Health closed three occupational health clinics and sold a fourth clinic at its Dearborn, Mich., location to Long Beach, Calif.-based Molina Medical Management, according to Crain's Detroit Business.

The three occupational health clinics located in Detroit, Livonia and Taylor, Mich., officially closed Oct. 1. A representative for Beaumont Health said the facility in Taylor will be converted into a second location for Beaumont employee healthcare services.

The representative also said Beaumont Health officials decided to sell the Dearborn facility because the original financial projections for the clinic were not accurate due to inadequate reimbursement.

According to Beaumont Health officials, the employees affected by the closing of the three occupational health clinics were not employees of Beaumont and were reportedly offered other job opportunities.

The two entities first announced the sale of the Dearborn clinic in June. According to a statement released by Molina Medical Management, the clinic will remain open and all current employees will have the opportunity to seek employment with Molina Medical.
