Milwaukee-based Aurora Health Care and Franklin, Tenn.-based IASIS Healthcare have announced a partnership, which includes clinical affiliations and the formation of a development joint venture — Aurora IASIS Health Partners.
Aurora IASIS Health Partners will be headquartered in Milwaukee and will pursue healthcare acquisitions, new construction, management of facilities and development of clinical services with an initial focus in Wisconsin and northern Illinois, according to the release. The joint venture does not require regulatory approval. It will be governed by a board of directors comprised of representatives from each organization.
According to the release, the joint venture's first project will be the development of a cancer center near Aurora Medical Center-Kenosha (Wis.). Other clinical service offerings may be a part of the campus, but those plans will be announced a later date, according to the release.
As part of their affiliation, Aurora Health Care and IASIS will also explore clinical affiliations to leverage each organization's operational capabilities. The clinical affiliations may include transplant programs, clinical research projects, physician practice management collaboration, managed care initiatives, medical management programs and shared clinical protocols, according to the release.
