West Orange, N.J.-based Barnabas Health and RadNet, a diagnostic imaging services provider, announced the operational commencement of their joint venture in imaging services.
The joint venture, called The New Jersey Imaging Network, aims to establish a statewide diagnostic imaging network with 37 access points; provide management services to existing RadNet and imaging facilities that will be owned by the joint venture; and build or buy additional imaging centers or enter related healthcare businesses in New Jersey, according to the report.
As part of the joint venture, RadNet is selling its West Orange (N.J.) Imaging Center to Barnabas Health. The joint venture will provide management services to the facility.
Barnabas Health and RadNet are also building a new imaging center in Cedar Knolls, N.J., under the joint venture. The center will offer MRI, CT, digital mammography, bone densitometry, ultrasonography and digital radiographic services. The center, which is co-located in a new Musculoskeletal Center of Excellence, will also offer orthopedic imaging capabilities.
The new facility will replace RadNet's existing center in Morristown, N.J., whose operations will be transferred to the new imaging center, according to the report.
