St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Poplar Bluff (Mo.) Medical Partners are planning a joint venture, three-bed hospital in Polar Bluff, Mo., according to a Southeast Missourian report.
The hospital, which will be named Black River Community Medical Center, is the second three-bed hospital the Missouri Health Facilities Review Committee has granted a certificate of need for this year as providers focus efforts in outpatient care.
While the initial license will be for three beds, officials say the joint venture’s goal is to steadily expand into a 150-bed facility.
