Maywood, Ill.-based Loyola University Health System is officially part of Novi, Mich.-based Trinity Health, according to a Trinity Health news release.
LUHS was previously a wholly owned subsidiary of Loyola University Chicago. Under the consolidation agreement, Trinity Health is the owner of LUHS, while the Stritch School of Medicine, Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing and other programs will continue to operate as part of the university. In addition, LUHS physicians will continue their faculty roles at Stritch.
The health systems' goals are to increase resources and efficiencies for patients and support LUC's health-sciences education and research through the newly reorganized Health Sciences Division.
