Paul Whelton, MD, will resign as president and CEO of Maywood, Ill.-based Loyola University Health System on June 30, according to a Chicago Tribune report.
According to the report, Dr. Whelton told staff he is leaving June 30 "due to the merger with Trinity Health." Loyola University Chicago plans to complete its proposed sale of its medical center to Novi, Mich.-based Trinity at the end of June.
Dr. Whelton has served as CEO of Loyola University Health System for four years.
