New York City-based Healthcare Management Partners will sign agreements to manage Allendale County Hospital in Fairfax, Barnwell County Hospital in Barnwell and Bamberg County Hospital in Bamberg, all in South Carolina, according to a news release.
HMP and Dobbs Equity Partners will merge the three hospitals into a new, integrated hospital system to be called Tri-County Regional Health System. HMP and Dobbs plan to construct three new multi-specialty ambulatory primary care centers in Allendale, Barnwell and Bamberg in addition to a new general acute-care hospital. The total capital investment for the new health system is estimated to be approximately $90 million.
Michael Morgan, partner and managing director of HMP, will direct current management of the three hospitals, construction of the new hospital and consolidation of the new health system.
