UnitedHealthcare and New West Physicians, a 65-physician primary care group practice and medical management company in Denver, are starting an accountable care organization.
The ACO will be available to more than 14,000 patients enrolled in UnitedHealthcare's employer-sponsored health plans.
As part of the ACO agreement, New West's physicians and other care providers can receive payment incentives based on improvements in certain quality measures, such as readmission rates, disease management and prevention, patient safety and evidence-based care delivery.
The ACO's start date is April 1, according to a spokesperson.
