Memphis, Tenn.-based Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare has acquired Penn Marc Internal Medicine, according to a Commercial Appeal news release.
The internal medicine practice includes three physicians and nine employees.
The health system said the acquisition is part of its strategy "to more closely align with physician partners to provide outstanding care to the community," said Bill Breen, Methodist's senior vice president of physician alignment in the report.
The move marks the sixth practice acquisition for Methodist, which now owns Foundation Medical Group, Lakeland Family Medicine, McGee General Surgery Clinic, Penn Marc Internal Medicine, Sutherland Cardiology Clinic and The CardioVascular Center, according to the report.
