More than 100 pediatricians have decided to leave UT Medical Group to join UT Le Bonheur Pediatric Specialists, a new joint venture between Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, according to a Daily News report.
The new non-profit physician group marks the first foray into practice management for both Memphis-based hospitals. The new group is expected to be in place by Jan. 1, according to the report.
The new organization has yet to name a CEO, but has named two interim co-directors: Matt Love, senior vice president for planning and strategy at Le Bonheur, and Tim Masburn, associate dean offinance and administration at UTHSC.
