Duluth, Minn.-based St. Luke's Hospital System has acquired a Duluth specialty clinic, Northland OB-GYN, according to a Duluth News Tribune report.
St. Luke's Hospital will purchase all of the clinic's assets.
Susan Goltz, MD, one of eight physicians in the Northland OB-GYN group, said the physicians of Northland decided to sell because of concerns over an increasingly complex healthcare environment. The affiliation with St. Luke's will allow Northland OB-GYN physicians to provide service in more locations.
Northland clinic has eight full-time physicians and 35 more employees. All staff members from the clinic are expected to be offered a position at the hospital as part of the acquisition.
