Southcoast Physicians Network, an association of more than 325 physicians and a member of New Bedford, Mass.-based Southcoast Health System, has extended its affiliation with the New England Quality Care Alliance, a network of physicians affiliated with Tufts Medical Center in Boston, for another three years.
SPN has been affiliated with NEQCA for the last three years. As part of the affiliation, SPN's physicians have integrated access to Tufts Medical Center when their patients have complex medical needs and need highly specialized care, according to a news release.
"Among our collaborations, our doctors have partnered with NEQCA to improve quality of care for our patients — working hard to improve rates of preventive care visits, and to provide more comprehensive care for our patients with diabetes. Our new agreement allows for us to continue our successful partnership and find new, collaborative ways to enhance our relationship and improve care for our region," Cynthia Wicks, president of SPN, said in the release.
