The NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield, Tenn., along with participating physicians on its medical staff, have formed a physician-hospital organization, according to a Tennessean report.
The NorthCrest Health Network PHO will be the sole agent in contract talks with insurers for the network of 44 physicians representing 17 specialties, according to the report.
Northcrest Health will also handle administrative functions, including credentialing physicians.
The PHO will focus on managing chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes, hypertension and other chronic diseases that are often difficult or impossible to cure, according to the report.
