Lakeland (Fla.) Regional Health Systems and Clark & Daughtrey Medical Group, P.A., have signed a letter of intent to merge.
The health system and physician group, also located in Lakeland, will work together to increase primary care access, improve quality of care and participate in new graduate medical education programs.
"We know that in order to provide the best healthcare to patients and families at lower costs, doctors and hospitals must work together in new strategic, operational and financially aligned models," Elaine Thompson, PhD, Lakeland Regional's president and CEO, said in a news release. "We are excited to be partnering with Clark & Daughtrey and their wonderful physicians and employees, who have a legacy of delivering exceptional healthcare to the patients and families of our community."
Clark & Daughtrey Medical Group was established in 1949 and has 62 providers and 275 employees.
