CVS Caremark is planning to expand its retail clinics in the wealthiest neighborhoods of Washington, D.C., according to a Washington Business Journal report.
CVS is seeking regulatory approval for two new clinics to open in late 2013. If approved, those clinics would be CVS' fifth and six MinuteClinic locations in the District of Columbia.
Andrew Sussman, MD, MinuteClinic president and senior vice president with CVS, said demand for the clinics is "growing rapidly," and CVS has seen some of the highest volumes in its history, according to the report. The company hopes to expand from 600 existing MinuteClinic locations to 1,000 across the country by 2016.
