Connecticut's Waterbury Hospital Acquires Cardiology Practice

Waterbury (Conn.) Hospital has acquired Cardiology Associates of Waterbury, according to a Republican-American report.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The eight-physician practice employs 60 people. No layoffs are expected as part of the deal, according to the report.

The acquisition is part of a nationwide trend of cardiologists joining hospitals, due to declining reimbursements as well as increasing costs associated with regulatory compliance.
