Middletown, Conn.-based Medical Professional Services, a group of over 400 physicians, plans to join with other physician groups and hospitals to form an accountable care organization, according to a Hartford Courant blog.
The ACO plans to cut costs by evaluating doctors' performance, patient satisfaction, and MPS' strategies. The group will use one system of electronic records to integrate care.
MPS will also institute a new payment method for physicians, according to the report.
