Weston, Fla.-based Cleveland Clinic Florida and Florida Blue have signed a letter of intent to create an accountable care program.
The ACO aims to improve partnerships between patients and their physicians, and to enhance care coordination throughout the system in order to increase patient satisfaction and manage the health of the population.
The ACO program will have a value-based compensation structure, which aims to decrease the cost of care by rewarding transparency, care coordination, consumer power and lack of redundancy, among other goals.
A possible start date for the ACO was not released.
