Cigna and San Francisco-based Brown & Toland Physicians, an independent practice association of around 1,500 physicians, have announced a new accountable care organization initiative for Cigna PPO patients.
The collaborative accountable care program will work to accomplish the same goals as an ACO: high quality care at lower costs.
In the program, Brown & Toland care coordinators will work with Cigna staff to identify high-risk patients and help with enrollment in disease management programs.
