Centra Health, a two-hospital system based in Lynchburg, Va., has agreed to a five-year deal with Liberty University's College of Osteopathic Medicine to train new medical students, according to a News & Advance report.
The affiliation will allow between 70 and 80 fourth-year medical students to obtain clinical clerkships at Centra facilities, according to the report. However, the agreement is nonexclusive, meaning Centra can still pursue medical school partnerships with other local universities.
Liberty's College of Osteopathic Medicine is still seeking accreditation and expects to open in 2014.
