Sixty-three percent of physicians surveyed in a new AthenaHealth-Sermo report say they believe the shift to accountable care organizations will have a negative impact on quality of care. More than half of the physicians surveyed believe quality of care will decrease over the next five years.

- 53 percent of the physicians see the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act as detrimental to high-quality care;
- 42 percent are confident the transition to ICD-10 will be smooth;
- 73 percent say EHRs are a distraction to interacting with the patient;
- 89 percent say payors have become more intrusive on the patient-physician relationship.
