Providers responding to a recent Medical Group Management Association physician placement survey reported the most placements in California (more than 300), Pennsylvania, (292) and Texas (267). The states where providers reported the least number of placements included North Dakota, Idaho and Vermont.
Additionally, six out of ten regions in the U.S. reported that more providers immigrated to the region than migrated out to other regions.
Fifty-three percent of physicians received signing bonuses as part of an employment offer, and nearly 13 percent received loan forgiveness packages, according to the report.
The report features information on first-year guaranteed compensation for primary care physicians and specialists, as well as median compensation statistics for single specialty and multispecialty practices.
