St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Mass., has cut 117 jobs, affecting 60 employees, according to a Telegram & Gazette report.
Those affected by the job cuts, which included managers and bedside nurses, were offered severance packages. Hospital leaders attributed the job cuts to lower demand for diagnostic procedures, lab work and elective surgeries, according to the report.
This round of job cuts comes soon after the hospital eliminated 50 nursing positions.
