St. John's Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis has undergone a name change, according to a KSDK report.
As of noon yesterday, the hospital changed signage to reflect its new name: Mercy Hospital St. Louis. The new name will officially go into effect Thursday.
St. John's is one of the first hospitals within the Mercy system to transition to a new identity. Beginning Sept. 1, the 28 hospitals within the system will be transitioning their names to "Mercy Hospital" with an identification of their community name, such as Mercy Hospital St. Louis and Mercy Hospital Washington.
