Sisters of Mercy Health System, based in St. Louis, will be changing its name to Mercy Health, according to a St. Louis Review report.
The name change will begin Sept. 1, as the system transitions its 28 hospitals to Mercy Hospital, and when necessary, identify them with the community name — such as Mercy Hospital St. Louis and Mercy Hospital Washington.
The system will also unveil a new logo. System officials said the name will help prevent confusion, as many people did not recognize certain hospitals were associated with Mercy due to the different names across communities.
