Saint Thomas Health Slashes 38 Jobs

Nashville, Tenn.-based Saint Thomas Health has cut 38 jobs related to billing and other non-patient-centric services, according to a Tennessean report.

The layoffs occurred at Saint Thomas Physician Services, a group of physician practices. Half of the jobs lost were still vacant.

A Saint Thomas Health spokesperson told the Tennessean the layoffs were the result of an evolving healthcare environment that requires "continuous evaluation of practices to make adjustments for efficiency and stewardship."
