Albany, Ga.-based Phoebe Putney Health System plans to cut 127 positions as part of a restructuring plan, according to an Atlanta Business Chronicle report.
These layoffs are in addition to the 33 positions the system eliminated earlier this month.
Joel Wernick, president and CEO of Phoebe Putney, pointed to the state's decision to not expand Medicaid, sequestration, reduced reimbursements and uncertainties surrounding the implementation of healthcare reform as the reason for the layoffs.
