Nurses at Flushing Hospital Picket Over Contract Talks

Nurses at Flushing (N.Y.) Hospital Medical Center picketed last week following the expiration of their pension and medical benefits, according to a New York Daily News report.

The nurses' union, the New York State Nurses Association, and the hospital's parent, MediSys Health Network, have been unable to agree on a new contract and a temporary extension of the benefits was not provided, leaving the nurses without them as of Jan. 1, according to the report.
