NorthShore University HealthSystem Receives $5M For Urologic Health Center

NorthShore University HealthSystem Foundation has received a $5 million gift to establish The John and Carol Walter Center for Urologic Health, a state-of-the-art center for urologic care and advanced research, according to a NorthShore news release.

The center will be located in the new John and Carol Walter Ambulatory Care Center at NorthShore Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview, Ill. The ACC is slated to open early next year.

The donors, John R. and Carol A. Walter, are from Chicago's North Shore and currently reside in Boca Grande, Fla.

“We thank John and Carol Walter for their extraordinary and generous gift,” said Mark R. Neaman, President and CEO of NorthShore. “The Walter Center will become the preeminent destination in the Midwest for urologic care—a Center that will reinforce NorthShore’s standing as a national leader in the areas of advanced medicine, breakthrough research, superior information technology and by providing highly personalized care to the patients we are privileged to serve.”
