The Manhattan District Attorney's office is reportedly investigating the bankruptcy of St. Vincent Hospital in New York City's Greenwich Village to determine if leaders of the hospital purposely allowed the hospital to go bankrupt in order to sell the facility to a private developer, according to a NY1 News report.
The hospital, which closed in April 2010 following severe financial troubles, was sold to the Rudin family, who plan to develop luxury properties at the hospital site.
According to the report, a spokesperson for the former hospitals said it is not aware of the investigation.
