Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center has closed its skilled nursing facility division, resulting in 60 layoffs, according to a report by The Baltimore Sun.
The closed SNF division had faced financial challenges over the years and had been reduced to 38 beds, down from 200 in the 1980s, according to the report. Johns Hopkins Bayview is working with the 60 affected employees in their job transitions.
