Keokuk (Iowa) Area Hospital will focus on leaner operations after failing to find a partner for an affiliation, according to a Chicago Tribune report.
The hospital, which approached Iowa Health, University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and Quorum Group, did not receive any offers during the six months it deliberated the future of the hospital, according to the report.
Keokuk CEO Allan Zastrow said it is not currently considering a sale or a merger, but instead sought new affiliations. The hospital already has affiliations with Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa, Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill., and Memorial Hospital in Carthage, Ill., according to the report.
