Franklin Community Health Network in Farmington, Maine, has announced plans to cut 35 to 40 positions from its 850-employee workforce due to growing financial losses, according to a Kennebec Journal report.
FCH operates Franklin Memorial Hospital, also in Farmington. Cuts, which will affect mostly nonclinical positions, are part of the network's plan to reduce expenses by $6 million by June, according to the report.
The network has lost about $500,000 each month for the last seven months. That will result in a $5.9 million loss by the year's end, if the pattern persists.
