Allen Parish Hospital in Louisiana to Close Emergency Department

Effective March 1, Allen Parish Hospital in Kinder, La., will no longer provide emergency services, according to a public notice posted on the hospital's website.

Hospital officials decided to close the emergency department due to funding problems and a lack of inpatient revenue, according to a KPLC report.

Allen Parish Hospital is a 49-bed, government-owned facility.
