Roseville, Calif.-based Adventist Health's Northern California Network laid off 48 employees this year from St. Helena Hospital, according to a North Bay Business Journal report.
St. Helena includes three campuses in California. Twenty-nine layoffs occurred at the Napa Valley location, 12 at the Clear Lake campus and seven at St. Helen Hospital Center Behavioral Health in Vallejo, according to the report.
Adventist implemented the layoffs in an effort to narrow a $3.78 million budget gap, according to the report. Decreased patient volumes, more uninsured patients and an increase in behavioral health patients have contributed to that budget gap.
