Pittsburgh-based health insurer Highmark and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center have struck separate deals with Butler (Pa.) Health System for specialty services, according to a Pittsburgh Tribune-Review report.
In its efforts to build an integrated delivery system, Highmark previously hired two neurologists from UPMC Presbyterian. Those neurologists will now work at Butler (Pa.) Memorial Hospital's PA Brain and Spine Institute.
UPMC Cancer Center also formed new ties with Butler Health through a new joint venture cancer center. The JV acquired Butler (Pa.) Radiation Oncology Associates, and the practice's two radiation oncologists are now employed by Butler Health.
