Community Memorial Healthcenter's board affiliation steering committee has received interest from eight potential health system partners, and the committee has narrowed the review further to "several" organizations, according to a Lake Gaston Gazette-Observer report.
CMH, a 284-bed hospital based in South Hills, Va., started exploring possible affiliation partners in August. Though CMH is refining its list of partners, officials said there is still a possibility CMH could remain independent and that the process is far from over.
"Our steering committee is taking the time it needs to thoroughly research and deliberate before making a recommendation as to whether CMH should consider an affiliation," CMH President and CEO Scott Burnette told the Gazette-Observer. "Contrary to rumors in the community, a decision has not been made to move forward with an affiliation nor have we chosen a prospective partner."
