Lansing, Mich.-based Sparrow Health System and Michigan State University, based in East Lansing, have announced plans to partner to integrate a majority of their pediatric outpatient specialty services into a single location.
The move is intended to better coordinate and enhance specialty pediatric care for the region. Officials are currently working to identify a location for the consolidated pediatric specialty care services and recruit pediatric specialists and subspecialists.
The partnership also includes the development of a pediatric resource and referral service, which will help match pediatric patients to the physicians and services. This referral service – which will be up and running this summer – will serve as a single point of contact for pediatric specialty care between Sparrow Hospital and MSU HealthTeam, the clinical arm of the university, according to a news release by the organizations.
