New Bedford, Mass.-based Southcoast Health System and Boston Children's Hospital have announced the leaders of their new regional pediatric program at Southcoast's St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford.
Brian E. Sard, MD, will serve as medical director of pediatric services, and Athena Xifaras, MD, will serve as associate director of pediatric services under the new collaboration.
Dr. Sard will be responsible for medical oversight, development and coordination of Southcoast's hospital-based pediatric services. Dr. Xifaras will work with Dr. Sard to implement and monitor clinical quality standards and other standards to ensure top quality.
