Northwestern, Northern Illinois Partner With Treatment Center to Study Proton Beam Therapy

Northern Illinois University, Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago and Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine have partnered with the Northern Illinois Proton Treatment Center to study nuclear medicine and proton beam therapy, according to a wrex.com report.

The partnership will focus on treatment protocols for proton therapy for cancer patients, with a goal to conduct clinical trials in the future, according to the report. The partnership will also expand healthcare workforce training for students.
