Great Neck, N.Y.-based North Shore-LIJ Health System has announced plans to invest $175 million to open and expand cancer centers in the New York City area, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal.
The North Shore-LIJ Cancer Institute will consolidate cancer care into specialty centers around the region. An expansion has already begun on the Monter Cancer Center, part of North Shore-LIJ's Center for Advanced Medicine in Lake Success, N.Y., and the center will soon feature fully integrated ambulatory hematology/oncology and chemotherapy treatment services.
